Dong Ding oolong tea

Originates from Dong Ding town, Nantou. The poor girls picking tea couldn’t afford shoes, so they had to tip toe their way up the mountain in the winter time, and therefore the name frozen summit. And the tea grown there, are named Dong Ding tea. In the early days, oolong tea was dark roasted or baked to bring out its sweetness. Nowadays, Dong Ding type of oolong tea is available from all over the country, and to cater market preference, there are two flavors available: raw tea and ripe tea.


Gaoshan tea

The misty weather in places with altitude of 1000 meters or higher, has less sun bask, and therefore less caffeine formed. The tea leaves in this weather condition are rich in pectin and amino acids, yielding a sweet taste. Gaoshan tea is known for its rich flavor, and long soaking ability. Each and every mountain in Taiwan varies in amount of rain fall and soil, therefore growing different mountain-specific flavors of tea. And this is what makes the connoisseurs addicted to Gaoshan tea.


Baihao oolong tea

This is the most characteristic oolong tea in Taiwan. Baihao has many other names, such as oriental beauty tea, brag tea, five-color tea. The ill tea leaves that are bitten by pests, are then highly fermented to bring out the natural honey aroma and taste. Nowadays, natural products are in popular demand. There is no doubt that the bug bitten oriental tea is a popular product.




Pouchong tea

The earliest type of oolong tea produced is the four tael packets, which are exported greatly in the early days. As time progresses, pouchong tea are mostly grown in Nangang and Pinglin. This is a lightly fermented, green tea taste-alike, but with a floral aroma type of tea. Pouchong tea can be easily loved by people trying oolong tea for the first time.
The method of making oolong tea originates from China, but it has developed into its own characteristics due to the geographic conditions in Taiwan. This Formosan characteristic is a combination of nature grace and the charm of humanities. The same tea plant growing in different environment, integrating masters’ experienced skills will produce different mountain-specific aroma. When the connoisseurs take a sip of their gaoshan tea, they also enjoy the indescribable production of tea.
