Originates from Dong Ding town, Nantou. The poor girls picking tea couldn’t afford shoes, so they had to tip toe their way up the mountain in the winter time, and therefore the name frozen summit. And the tea grown there, are named Dong Ding tea. In the early days, oolong tea was dark roasted or baked to bring out its sweetness. Nowadays, Dong Ding type of oolong tea is available from all over the country, and to cater market preference, there are two flavors available: raw tea and ripe tea.
The misty weather in places with altitude of 1000 meters or higher, has less sun bask, and therefore less caffeine formed.
